Building a more just world.

You believe dignity isn't earned — it's owed to every human being. So do we. The Intercultural Diversity and Inclusion Center (ILO) builds the educational spaces, community networks, and cultural recognition that turn that belief into lived reality — with a special commitment to Roma communities and minority voices worldwide.

Our Mission

Recognize the dignity and worth of every individual. Then build a community that proves it.

The mission of IDIC ILO is to create an educational environment that broadens our understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism, diversity, and social and economic justice.

We're building a broad community network — committed to working together toward the recognition and acceptance of the dignity and worth of every individual, and to providing a warm, welcoming, supportive, and vibrant environment for all who have been underrepresented.

Because understanding isn't passive. It's something we build, together, on purpose.

Why ILO Matters

Generations of cultural strength, met with deep social injustice.

Across the world, communities continue to face discrimination, poverty, and barriers to education and equal opportunity. Many minority groups — including Romani communities — have carried profound heritage while enduring exclusion for generations.

ILO works to change that: building programs that inspire respect, preserve identity, and create real pathways to dignity and opportunity.

Our Goals

What we set out to build

Imagine a place where Roma history is told by Roma voices, where women lead, and where a young person finally feels they matter. These goals point the way — and they're not the limit of what we'll do.

01

An Educational Platform for Roma Identity

A space where Roma and non-Roma can access knowledge about Roma identity, history, and culture — through high-quality lectures from leading Roma activists, public figures, and scholars, on topics from the Roma Holocaust and enslavement to Roma cultural production.

02

Empowerment & Self-Organization

We create space for Roma to become active in American society through empowerment, mobilization, and self-organization — turning community strength into a real, organized voice.

03

Roma Women & Girls in the Lead

We support Roma women and girls by fostering their capacities and leadership, so they can be equally and fairly involved in public life and decision-making.

04

A Global Network of Allies

We connect Roma and non-Roma people across countries — reaching shared objectives through international, national, and local work that no single community could achieve alone.

A Roma Cultural Center in Chicago

Every community deserves a home — a physical place where its history is honored, its future is built, and its people are seen.

IDIC ILO is working to produce a functional Roma Cultural Center in Chicago, and to keep fostering an environment that promotes leadership development, a sense of community, and a sense of mattering.

This is where it becomes real. Your support helps us build it.
